

Tedra McGillian, MPH
Tedra McGillan is a public health professional with a strong background in community education, health promotion, and community engagement. She earned her bachelor’s degree in public health from Furman University in 2018 and completed her Master of Public Health through the University of Arizona Global Campus in 2025.
Her public health journey began with the South Carolina Department of Public Health, where she served in the Charleston area during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic. She later continued her COVID-19 response work in Mississippi as a public health educator, helping connect communities with timely information, resources, and support.
Tedra currently serves as the Community Impact Director for the Upstate with the American Heart Association, a role she has proudly held for the past three years. In this position, she works to advance health initiatives, strengthen community partnerships, and support efforts that improve health outcomes across the region.
Passionate about public health and deeply committed to meaningful community engagement, Tedra believes in meeting people where they are and helping create opportunities for healthier lives through direct connection and collaboration.
For THRIVE Laurens County, Tedra is honored to serve as Co-Chair alongside Jervelle, Chair and HPHC Coordinator, as they work together to support healthier communities throughout Laurens County.
